عَبَسَ وَتَوَلّٰٓىۙ†﴿۱﴾
He frowned and turned away ﴾1﴿
اَنۡ جَآءَه٠الۡاَعۡمٰىؕ†﴿۲﴾
Because the blind man came unto him. ﴾2﴿
وَمَا ÙŠÙدۡرÙÙŠÛ¡ÙƒÙŽ لَعَلَّهٗ يَزَّكّٰٓىۙ†﴿۳﴾
What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) ﴾3﴿
اَوۡ يَذَّكَّر٠ÙَتَنۡÙَعَه٠الذّÙكۡرٰىؕ†﴿۴﴾
Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? ﴾4﴿
اَمَّا مَن٠اسۡتَغۡنٰىۙ†﴿۵﴾
As for him who thinketh himself independent, ﴾5﴿
Ùَاَنۡتَ لَهٗ تَصَدّٰىؕ†﴿۶﴾
Unto him thou payest regard. ﴾6﴿
وَمَا عَلَيۡكَ اَلَّا يَزَّكّٰٓىؕ†﴿۷﴾
Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). ﴾7﴿
وَاَمَّا Ù…ÙŽÙ†Û¡ جَآءَكَ يَسۡعٰىۙ†﴿۸﴾
But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose ﴾8﴿
ÙˆÙŽÙ‡ÙÙˆÙŽ يَخۡشٰىۙ†﴿۹﴾
And hath fear, ﴾9﴿
Ùَاَنۡتَ عَنۡه٠تَلَهّٰى‌ۚ†﴿۱۰﴾
From him thou art distracted. ﴾10﴿
كَلَّاۤ اÙنَّهَا تَذۡكÙرَةٌ‌ۚ†﴿۱۱﴾
Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, ﴾11﴿
ÙÙŽÙ…ÙŽÙ†Û¡ شَآءَ ذَكَرَهٗ‌ۘ†﴿۱۲﴾
So let whosoever will pay heed to it, ﴾12﴿
ÙÙÙ‰Û¡ صÙØÙÙ٠مّÙكَرَّمَةÙۙ†﴿۱۳﴾
On honoured leaves ﴾13﴿
مَّرۡÙÙوۡعَة٠مّÙطَهَّرَةÙÛۙ†﴿۱۴﴾
Exalted, purified, ﴾14﴿
بÙاَيۡدÙÙ‰Û¡ سَÙَرَةÙۙ†﴿۱۵﴾
(Set down) by scribes ﴾15﴿
ÙƒÙرَامÙÛ¢ بَرَرَةÙؕ†﴿۱۶﴾
Noble and righteous. ﴾16﴿
Ù‚ÙتÙÙ„ÙŽ الۡاÙنۡسَان٠مَاۤ اَكۡÙَرَهٗؕ†﴿۱۷﴾
Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! ﴾17﴿
Ù…ÙÙ†Û¡ اَىّ٠شَىۡء٠خَلَقَهٗؕ†﴿۱۸﴾
From what thing doth He create him? ﴾18﴿
Ù…ÙÙ†Û¡ نّÙØ·Û¡ÙÙŽØ©ÙØ• خَلَقَهٗ Ùَقَدَّرَهٗۙ†﴿۱۹﴾
From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, ﴾19﴿
Ø«Ùمَّ السَّبÙÙŠÛ¡Ù„ÙŽ يَسَّرَهٗۙ†﴿۲۰﴾
Then maketh the way easy for him, ﴾20﴿
Ø«Ùمَّ اَمَاتَهٗ Ùَاَقۡبَرَهٗۙ†﴿۲۱﴾
Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; ﴾21﴿
Ø«Ùمَّ اÙذَا شَآءَ اَنۡشَرَهٗؕ†﴿۲۲﴾
Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. ﴾22﴿
كَلَّا لَـمَّا يَقۡض٠مَاۤ اَمَرَهٗؕ†﴿۲۳﴾
Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. ﴾23﴿
ÙَلۡيَنۡظÙر٠الۡاÙنۡسَان٠اÙلٰى طَعَامÙهٖۤۙ†﴿۲۴﴾
Let man consider his food: ﴾24﴿
اَنَّا صَبَبۡنَا الۡمَآءَ صَبًّاۙ†﴿۲۵﴾
How We pour water in showers ﴾25﴿
Ø«Ùمَّ شَقَقۡنَا الۡاَرۡضَ شَقًّاۙ†﴿۲۶﴾
Then split the earth in clefts ﴾26﴿
Ùَاَنۡۢبَتۡنَا ÙÙيۡهَا Øَبًّاۙ†﴿۲۷﴾
And cause the grain to grow therein ﴾27﴿
وَّ عÙنَبًا وَّقَضۡبًاۙ†﴿۲۸﴾
And grapes and green fodder ﴾28﴿
وَّزَيۡتÙوۡنًا وَّنَخۡلاًؕ†﴿۲۹﴾
And olive-trees and palm-trees ﴾29﴿
ÙˆÙŽØَدَآٮٕÙÙ‚ÙŽ غÙلۡبًاۙ†﴿۳۰﴾
And garden-closes of thick foliage ﴾30﴿
وَّÙَاكÙهَةً وَّاَبًّاۙ†﴿۳۱﴾
And fruits and grasses: ﴾31﴿
مَّتَاعًا لَّـكÙÙ…Û¡ ÙˆÙŽÙ„ÙاَنۡعَامÙÙƒÙمۡؕ†﴿۳۲﴾
Provision for you and your cattle. ﴾32﴿
ÙَاÙذَا جَآءَت٠الصَّآخَّةÙ†﴿۳۳﴾
But when the Shout cometh ﴾33﴿
ÙŠÙŽÙˆÛ¡Ù…ÙŽ ÙŠÙŽÙÙرّ٠الۡمَرۡء٠مÙÙ†Û¡ اَخÙÙŠÛ¡Ù‡Ùۙ†﴿۳۴﴾
On the day when a man fleeth from his brother ﴾34﴿
وَاÙمّÙهٖ وَاَبÙÙŠÛ¡Ù‡Ùۙ†﴿۳۵﴾
And his mother and his father ﴾35﴿
وَصَاØÙبَتÙهٖ وَبَنÙÙŠÛ¡Ù‡Ùؕ†﴿۳۶﴾
And his wife and his children, ﴾36﴿
Ù„ÙÙƒÙلّ٠امۡرÙیء٠مّÙÙ†Û¡Ù‡ÙÙ…Û¡ يَوۡمَٮٕÙذ٠شَاۡنٌ يّÙغۡنÙÙŠÛ¡Ù‡Ùؕ†﴿۳۷﴾
Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). ﴾37﴿
ÙˆÙجÙÙˆÛ¡Ù‡ÙŒ يَّوۡمَٮٕÙذ٠مّÙسۡÙÙرَةٌۙ†﴿۳۸﴾
On that day faces will be bright as dawn, ﴾38﴿
ضَاØÙÙƒÙŽØ©ÙŒ مّÙسۡتَبۡشÙرَةٌ‌ۚ†﴿۳۹﴾
Laughing, rejoicing at good news; ﴾39﴿
ÙˆÙŽÙˆÙجÙÙˆÛ¡Ù‡ÙŒ يَّوۡمَٮٕÙذ٠عَلَيۡهَا غَبَرَةٌۙ†﴿۴۰﴾
And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, ﴾40﴿
تَرۡهَقÙهَا قَتَرَةٌؕ†﴿۴۱﴾
Veiled in darkness, ﴾41﴿
اÙولٰٓٮٕÙÙƒÙŽ Ù‡Ùم٠الۡكَÙَرَة٠الۡÙَجَرَةÙ†﴿۴۲﴾
Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. ﴾42﴿
