MOL PAKISTAN DONATES SEWING MACHINES

MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company B.V, donated 80 sewing machines to the underprivileged women hailing from communities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

MOL Pakistan prioritizes the importance of economic development for the stability and growth of the people in its areas of operations. The company donated 40 sewing machines to MPA Maliha Ali Asghar Khan and 40 to Ex Chairperson KPCSW, Neelum Toru. Both are influential Pakistani women politicians, actively working for women and society in their respective constituencies.

40 sewing machines were distributed to the females residing in the area of Rajoya, a small town located in tehsil Havelian, District Abbottabad, by Maliha Asghar and remaining 40 in village Toru, District Mardan, by Neelum Toru. Both distribution ceremonies were attended by prominent female members of the National Assembly to support the cause.

The focus of this initiative was to provide an opportunity for women to financially support themselves, provide prosperity and growth to their families. Most of the disadvantaged women in these areas do not have dignified and sustainable livelihoods. Due to lack of skills and regular income generation activities, they are well below the poverty line.

MOL Group Regional Vice President Middle East Africa & Pakistan, Mr. Ali Murtaza Abbas commented, “We encourage women empowerment and believe in the hard work and perseverance of the women of Pakistan, which is why we are encouraging and supporting females to become a productive member of society.”

MOL Group is a socially responsible corporate entity that operates globally and is well aware of its corporate social responsibilities and tries to look at avenues where it can bring about sustainable and long term change.
