यकुम जनवरी है नया साल है
यकुम जनवरी है नया साल है
दिसम्बर में पूछूँगा क्या हाल है
बचाए ख़ुदा शर की ज़द से उसे
बेचारा बहुत नेक-आमाल है
बताने लगा रात बूढ़ा फ़क़ीर
ये दुनिया हमेशा से कंगाल है
है दरिया में कच्चा घड़ा सोहनी
किनारे पे गुम-सुम महिवाल है
मैं रहता हूँ हर शाम शिकवा-ब-लब
मिरे पास दीवान-ए-'इक़बाल' है
