narm aawazon se ek nili KHamoshi hai rawan
yak-ba-yak uD gae
wo kale parind
jin ke sayon se shuaon mein thi ek be-KHwabi
ab wahi KHufta-mizaji wahi be-harf KHumar
narm aawazon ki thapki se
ye sab hosh o hawas
apne izhaar ke bahte hue dariya ki jagah
barf ki jhil bane
chiKH jo naghma-e-azad si lahraati thi
naghme mein gharq hui
wasl ki shab mein wahi shama bani
thartharaati hi rahi
honT jo tegha-e-ejaz pe chaspan the wo sab
ek sahafi ka qalam ban ke rahe be-mani
narm aawazon ke sailab mein ai kash kabhi
hadsa ho koi kashti kisi sahil se kahin Takra jae
phailti raat kabhi tharra jae
