ye soch kar na mail-e-fariyaad hum hue
aabaad kab hue the ki barbaad hum hue
hota hai shad-kaam yahan kaun ba-zamir
nashad hum hue to bahut shad hum hue
parwez ke jalal se Takrae hum bhi hain
ye aur baat hai ki na farhad hum hue
kuchh aaise bha gae hamein duniya ke dard-o-gham
ku-e-butan mein bhuli hui yaad hum hue
'jalib' tamam umr hamein ye guman raha
us zulf ke KHayal se aazad hum hue
