zulmat hi pahle thi jo hawale mein rah gai
taswir-e-kaenat ujale mein rah gai
aankhon ki hi sharab thi tauba-shikan zarur
kuchh aur bhi mai ki tarah pyale mein rah gai
karti hai maut jaise taaqub hayat ka
titli giri faza se to jale mein rah gai
bad-mazgi-e-suluk ka gahra asar hua
ek kankari si mere niwale mein rah gai
