din mein jo sath sab ke hansta tha
raat-bhar wo akele rota tha
bas wahi meri aaKHiri shab thi
chand jis raat mujh se ruTha tha
aaKHiri umr tak rahegi yaad
sath jis ke main raat bhiga tha
aur to koi tha nahin shayad
raat ko uTh ke main hi chiKHa tha
jo haqiqat khuli to ye jaana
wo mohabbat nahin tamasha tha
main baDa sang-dil tha yaro jab
dil banane ka mera pesha tha
aur to sare KHush the bas 'indar'
ek bulbul udas baiTha tha
