ahd-e-hazir ne jo Thukraya bahut
wo purana daur yaad aaya bahut
kya mila meri tabahi par unhen
KHanda-zan hai mera ham-saya bahut
aish-o-ishrat mein to hum bhule rahe
dukh musibat mein wo yaad aaya bahut
ho mubarak lazzat-e-ifraat-e-gham
hai ye arzani garan-maya bahut
chhat nahin mere makan mein to na ho
aasman ka hai mujhe saya bahut
KHushk kheton par faqat garja kiye
aur dariyaon pe barsaya bahut
jis pe paD jae wahi 'mahmud' ho
hai pasandida mera saya bahut
