baat be-baat ulajhte ho bhala baat hai kya
mere andar ki balaon se mulaqat hai kya
hum to us pasti-e-ehsas pe jite hain jahan
ye bhi malum nahin jit hai kya mat hai kya
dhund mein Dub gaya dil ka muhaddab adsa
kaun batlae sar-e-arz-o-samawat hai kya
dard ka ghaar-e-hira dil mein kiya hai tamir
mujh ko malum nahin tarz-e-ibaadat hai kya
ai mere lafz ka qad napne wale ye bata
tu jo aaya hai muqabil teri auqat hai kya
