jab bhi aati hai teri yaad kabhi sham ke baad
aur baDh jati hai afsurda-dili sham ke baad
ab iradon pe bharosa hai na tauba pe yaqin
mujh ko le jae kahan tishna-labi sham ke baad
yun to har lamha teri yaad ka bojhal guzra
dil ko mahsus hui teri kami sham ke baad
yun to kuchh sham se pahle bhi udasi thi 'adib'
ab to kuchh aur baDhi dil ki lagi sham ke baad
