Chocolate giant Mars are recalling some chocolate products over fears they may have become infected with salmonella.The confectionery maker is recalling Galaxy Smooth Milk Chocolate bars, Galaxy Minstrels, Galaxy Counters and Teasers bars in the UK and Ireland.The chocolate maker said it taken a “precautionary step” after potential traces of Salmonella were found during testing.Consumers are being warned not to eat the products due to fears they may carry the potentially deadly bacteria.A Mars Chocolate spokesperson said: “Through our routine testing, we have detected the potential presence of Salmonella from the ingredients used to make our chocolate.“As a precaution, we are voluntarily recalling certain Galaxy Smooth Milk Chocolate bars, Galaxy, Minstrels, Counters and Teasers bars.
