shab-e-firaq ki zulmat hai na-gawar mujhe
naqab uTha ki sahar ka hai intizar mujhe
qasam hai lala o gul ke udas chehron ki
fareb de na saka mausam-e-bahaar mujhe
ba-surat-e-dil-e-pur-dagh un ki mahfil se
ata hui hai mohabbat ki yaadgar mujhe
mazaq kal jo uDati thi gham ke maron ka
wo aankh kyun nazar aati hai sogwar mujhe
jafa o jaur-e-musalsal wafa o zabt-e-alam
wo iKHtiyar tumhein hai ye iKHtiyar mujhe
