Nasir Zaidi was born on 8 April 1943 in Muzaffarnagar, U.P. He did his education till graduation from Lahore. His literary taste too bloomed in the same city. He started column writing from Himayat-E-Islam weekly. For a few days he wrote for Imroz daily under the pen name, Saamey Basar.On May 13, 1978, four journalists courted arrest at the offices of Musawaat, among them was Nasir Zaidi, a quiet, unassuming and physically frail individual.
