Sahih Al Bukhari is considered as most authentic sayings of Prophet Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) and has significant value in Islamic history over other Ahadees books. The reports of sayings and deeds of holy Prophet Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) are called hadees (حدیث).

Imam al-Bukhari (rahimahullah) first started listening and learning hadith in 205 A.H. Sahih –al- Bukhari, also known as Bukhari Sharif , is one of the Kutub al-Sittah (six major hadith collections) of Sunni Islam. He collected Hadith in the right way so, Bukhari’s hadith is the most authentic collections of Hadiths. Sahih Bukhari is written by Imam Bukhari, who died in 256 ھ. Sahih Bukhari is an authenticated books of hadith which contacts total 99 chapters with a total number of 7558 hadith.

These are the second vast collection of the world. It was completed around 846 AD / 232 AH. These hadiths were collected by the Bukhari (full name Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ismail bin Ibrahim bin al-Mughira al-Ja’fai was born in 194 A.H.

The book covers all aspect of life such as methods of prayers and other worships directly from Muhammad ( PBUH). He spent 24 years of his life to collect the hadiths visiting different cities and scholars. He spent 16 years compiling it, and ended up with 2,600 hadith (9,082 with repetition).His criteria of acceptance into the collection were among the most demanding of all scholars of hadith.

Imam an-Nawawi (rahimahullah) relates that all scholars in Islam have agreed that Ṣahih al-Bukhari has the most authentic book after the Quran. Ṣahih al-Bukhari consists of 7,563 hadiths including those hadiths which have been repeated. Without repetitions however, the total number of hadiths is around 2,600. He died in a village near Samarkand in year 256 A.H./870 A.D.
