اِذَا الشَّمۡسُ كُوِّرَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۱﴾

When the sun is overthrown, ﴾1﴿

وَاِذَا النُّجُوۡمُ انْكَدَرَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۲﴾

And when the stars fall, ﴾2﴿

وَاِذَا الۡجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۳﴾

And when the hills are moved, ﴾3﴿

وَاِذَا الۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۴﴾

And when the camels big with young are abandoned, ﴾4﴿

وَاِذَا الۡوُحُوۡشُ حُشِرَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۵﴾

And when the wild beasts are herded together, ﴾5﴿

وَاِذَا الۡبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۶﴾

And when the seas rise, ﴾6﴿

وَاِذَا النُّفُوۡسُ زُوِّجَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۷﴾

And when souls are reunited, ﴾7﴿

وَاِذَا الۡمَوۡءٗدَةُ سُٮِٕلَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۸﴾

And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked ﴾8﴿

بِاَىِّ ذَنۡۢبٍ قُتِلَتۡ‌ۚ‏ ﴿۹﴾

For what sin she was slain, ﴾9﴿

وَاِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۱۰﴾

And when the pages are laid open, ﴾10﴿

وَاِذَا السَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۱۱﴾

And when the sky is torn away, ﴾11﴿

وَاِذَا الۡجَحِيۡمُ سُعِّرَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۱۲﴾

And when hell is lighted, ﴾12﴿

وَاِذَا الۡجَـنَّةُ اُزۡلِفَتۡۙ‏ ﴿۱۳﴾

And when the Garden is brought nigh, ﴾13﴿

عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٌ مَّاۤ اَحۡضَرَتۡؕ‏ ﴿۱۴﴾

(Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. ﴾14﴿

فَلَاۤ اُقۡسِمُ بِالۡخُنَّسِۙ‏ ﴿۱۵﴾

Oh, but I call to witness the planets, ﴾15﴿

الۡجَوَارِ الۡكُنَّسِۙ‏ ﴿۱۶﴾

The stars which rise and set, ﴾16﴿

وَالَّيۡلِ اِذَا عَسۡعَسَۙ‏ ﴿۱۷﴾

And the close of night, ﴾17﴿

وَالصُّبۡحِ اِذَا تَنَفَّسَۙ‏ ﴿۱۸﴾

And the breath of morning ﴾18﴿

اِنَّهٗ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُوۡلٍ كَرِيۡمٍۙ‏ ﴿۱۹﴾

That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, ﴾19﴿

ذِىۡ قُوَّةٍ عِنۡدَ ذِىۡ الۡعَرۡشِ مَكِيۡنٍۙ‏ ﴿۲۰﴾

Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, ﴾20﴿

مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ اَمِيۡنٍؕ‏ ﴿۲۱﴾

(One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; ﴾21﴿

وَ مَا صَاحِبُكُمۡ بِمَجۡنُوۡنٍ‌ۚ‏ ﴿۲۲﴾

And your comrade is not mad. ﴾22﴿

وَلَقَدۡ رَاٰهُ بِالۡاُفُقِ الۡمُبِيۡنِ‌ۚ‏ ﴿۲۳﴾

Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. ﴾23﴿

وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الۡغَيۡبِ بِضَنِيۡنٍ‌ۚ‏ ﴿۲۴﴾

And he is not avid of the Unseen. ﴾24﴿

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَيۡطٰنٍ رَّجِيۡمٍۙ‏ ﴿۲۵﴾

Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. ﴾25﴿

فَاَيۡنَ تَذۡهَبُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿۲۶﴾

Whither then go ye? ﴾26﴿

اِنۡ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكۡرٌ لِّلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَۙ‏ ﴿۲۷﴾

This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, ﴾27﴿

لِمَنۡ شَآءَ مِنۡكُمۡ اَنۡ يَّسۡتَقِيۡمَؕ‏ ﴿۲۸﴾

Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. ﴾28﴿

وَمَا تَشَآءُوۡنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يَّشَآءَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ‏ ﴿۲۹﴾

And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. ﴾29﴿
