عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُوۡنَ‌ۚ‏ ﴿۱﴾

Whereof do they question one another? ﴾1﴿

عَنِ النَّبَاِ الۡعَظِيۡمِۙ‏ ﴿۲﴾

(It is) of the awful tidings, ﴾2﴿

الَّذِىۡ هُمۡ فِيۡهِ مُخۡتَلِفُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿۳﴾

Concerning which they are in disagreement. ﴾3﴿

كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُوۡنَۙ‏ ﴿۴﴾

Nay, but they will come to know! ﴾4﴿

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُوۡنَ‏ ﴿۵﴾

Nay, again, but they will come to know! ﴾5﴿

اَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ الۡاَرۡضَ مِهٰدًاۙ‏ ﴿۶﴾

Have We not made the earth an expanse, ﴾6﴿

وَّالۡجِبَالَ اَوۡتَادًا ۙ‏ ﴿۷﴾

And the high hills bulwarks? ﴾7﴿

وَّخَلَقۡنٰكُمۡ اَزۡوَاجًاۙ‏ ﴿۸﴾

And We have created you in pairs, ﴾8﴿

وَّجَعَلۡنَا نَوۡمَكُمۡ سُبَاتًاۙ‏ ﴿۹﴾

And have appointed your sleep for repose, ﴾9﴿

وَّجَعَلۡنَا الَّيۡلَ لِبَاسًاۙ‏ ﴿۱۰﴾

And have appointed the night as a cloak, ﴾10﴿

وَّجَعَلۡنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا‏ ﴿۱۱﴾

And have appointed the day for livelihood. ﴾11﴿

وَّبَنَيۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعًا شِدَادًاۙ‏ ﴿۱۲﴾

And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), ﴾12﴿

وَّ جَعَلۡنَا سِرَاجًا وَّهَّاجًا ۙ‏ ﴿۱۳﴾

And have appointed a dazzling lamp, ﴾13﴿

وَّاَنۡزَلۡنَا مِنَ الۡمُعۡصِرٰتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًاۙ‏ ﴿۱۴﴾

And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, ﴾14﴿

لِّـنُخۡرِجَ بِهٖ حَبًّا وَّنَبَاتًاۙ‏ ﴿۱۵﴾

Thereby to produce grain and plant, ﴾15﴿

وَّجَنّٰتٍ اَلۡفَافًاؕ‏ ﴿۱۶﴾

And gardens of thick foliage. ﴾16﴿

اِنَّ ÙŠÙŽÙˆÛ¡Ù…ÙŽ الۡفَصۡلِ كَانَ مِيۡقَاتًاۙ‏ ﴿۱۷﴾

Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, ﴾17﴿

يَّوۡمَ يُنۡفَخُ فِىۡ الصُّوۡرِ فَتَاۡتُوۡنَ اَفۡوَاجًاۙ‏ ﴿۱۸﴾

A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, ﴾18﴿

وَّفُتِحَتِ السَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ اَبۡوَابًاۙ‏ ﴿۱۹﴾

And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, ﴾19﴿

وَّ سُيِّرَتِ الۡجِبَالُ فَكَانَتۡ سَرَابًاؕ‏ ﴿۲۰﴾

And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. ﴾20﴿

اِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتۡ مِرۡصَادًا ۙ‏ ﴿۲۱﴾

Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, ﴾21﴿

لِّلطّٰغِيۡنَ مَاٰبًاۙ‏ ﴿۲۲﴾

A home for the rebellious. ﴾22﴿

لّٰبِثِيۡنَ فِيۡهَاۤ اَحۡقَابًا‌ۚ‏ ﴿۲۳﴾

They will abide therein for ages. ﴾23﴿

لَا يَذُوۡقُوۡنَ فِيۡهَا بَرۡدًا وَّلَا شَرَابًاۙ‏ ﴿۲۴﴾

Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink ﴾24﴿

اِلَّا حَمِيۡمًا وَّغَسَّاقًاۙ‏ ﴿۲۵﴾

Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: ﴾25﴿

جَزَآءً وِّفَاقًاؕ‏ ﴿۲۶﴾

Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). ﴾26﴿

اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا لَا يَرۡجُوۡنَ حِسَابًاۙ‏ ﴿۲۷﴾

For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; ﴾27﴿

وَّكَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِنَا كِذَّابًاؕ‏ ﴿۲۸﴾

They called Our revelations false with strong denial. ﴾28﴿

وَكُلَّ شَىۡءٍ اَحۡصَيۡنٰهُ كِتٰبًاۙ‏ ﴿۲۹﴾

Everything have We recorded in a Book. ﴾29﴿

فَذُوۡقُوۡا فَلَنۡ نَّزِيۡدَكُمۡ اِلَّا عَذَابًا‏ ﴿۳۰﴾

So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. ﴾30﴿

اِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ مَفَازًاۙ‏ ﴿۳۱﴾

Lo! for the duteous is achievement - ﴾31﴿

حَدَآٮِٕقَ وَاَعۡنَابًاۙ‏ ﴿۳۲﴾

Gardens enclosed and vineyards, ﴾32﴿

وَّكَوَاعِبَ اَتۡرَابًاۙ‏ ﴿۳۳﴾

And voluptuous women of equal age; ﴾33﴿

وَّكَاۡسًا دِهَاقًاؕ‏ ﴿۳۴﴾

And a full cup. ﴾34﴿

لَّا يَسۡمَعُوۡنَ فِيۡهَا لَـغۡوًا وَّلَا كِذّٰبًا‌ۚ‏ ﴿۳۵﴾

There hear they never vain discourse, nor lying - ﴾35﴿

جَزَآءً مِّنۡ رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًاۙ‏ ﴿۳۶﴾

Requital from thy Lord - a gift in payment - ﴾36﴿

رَّبِّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا الرَّحۡمٰنِ‌ لَا يَمۡلِكُوۡنَ مِنۡهُ خِطَابًا‌ۚ‏ ﴿۳۷﴾

Lord of the heavens and the earth, and (all) that is between them, the Beneficent; with Whom none can converse. ﴾37﴿

ÙŠÙŽÙˆÛ¡Ù…ÙŽ يَقُوۡمُ الرُّوۡحُ وَالۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةُ صَفًّا   ؕۙ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُوۡنَ اِلَّا Ù…ÙŽÙ†Û¡ اَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحۡمٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا‌‏ ﴿۳۸﴾

On the day when the angels and the Spirit stand arrayed, they speak not, saving him whom the Beneficent alloweth and who speaketh right. ﴾38﴿

ذٰلِكَ الۡيَوۡمُ الۡحَـقُّ‌ ۚ فَمَنۡ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ مَاٰبًا‏ ﴿۳۹﴾

That is the True Day. So whoso will should seek recourse unto his Lord. ﴾39﴿

اِنَّاۤ اَنۡذَرۡنٰـكُمۡ عَذَابًا قَرِيۡبًا    ۖۚ يَّوۡمَ يَنۡظُرُ الۡمَرۡءُ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ يَدٰهُ وَيَقُوۡلُ الۡـكٰفِرُ يٰلَيۡتَنِىۡ كُنۡتُ تُرٰبًا‏ ﴿۴۰﴾

Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the disbeliever will cry: "Would that I were dust!" ﴾40﴿
