Surah Al-Baqara Ayat/verse 83 with Urdu & English Translation - 2:83

وَاِذۡ اَخَذۡنَا مِيۡثَاقَ بَنِىۡٓ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ لَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ اِلَّا اللّٰهَ وَبِالۡوَالِدَيۡنِ اِحۡسَانًا وَّذِىۡ الۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَالۡيَتٰمٰى وَالۡمَسٰکِيۡنِ وَقُوۡلُوۡا لِلنَّاسِ حُسۡنًا وَّاَقِيۡمُوۡا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوۡا الزَّکٰوةَ ؕ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا مِّنۡکُمۡ وَاَنۡتُمۡ مُّعۡرِضُوۡنَ‏﴿۸۳﴾

اور جب ہم Ù†Û’ بنی اسرائیل سے عہد لیا کہ خدا Ú©Û’ سوا کسی Ú©ÛŒ عبادت نہ کرنا اور ماں باپ اور رشتہ داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں Ú©Û’ ساتھ بھلائی کرتے رہنا اور لوگوں سے اچھی باتیں کہنا، اور نماز پڑھتے اور زکوٰة دیتے رہنا، تو چند شخصوں Ú©Û’ سوا تم سب (اس عہد سے) منہ پھیر کر پھر بیٹھے﴿۸۳﴾

And (remember) when We made a covenant with the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none save Allah (only), and be good to parents and to kindred and to orphans and the needy, and speak kindly to mankind; and establish worship and pay the poor-due. Then, after that, ye slid back, save a few of you, being averse.﴾83﴿
