Surah Maidah Ayat/verse 3 with Urdu & English Translation - 5:3

حُرِّمَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمُ الۡمَيۡتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحۡمُ الۡخِنۡزِيۡرِ وَمَاۤ اُهِلَّ لِغَيۡرِ اللّٰهِ بِهٖ وَالۡمُنۡخَنِقَةُ وَالۡمَوۡقُوۡذَةُ وَالۡمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّطِيۡحَةُ وَمَاۤ اَكَلَ السَّبُعُ اِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيۡتُمۡ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَاَنۡ تَسۡتَقۡسِمُوۡا بِالۡاَزۡلَامِ‌ؕ ذٰلِكُمۡ فِسۡقٌ‌ؕ الۡيَوۡمَ يَٮِٕسَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ دِيۡـنِكُمۡ فَلَا تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ وَاخۡشَوۡنِ‌ؕ اَلۡيَوۡمَ اَكۡمَلۡتُ لَـكُمۡ دِيۡنَكُمۡ وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِىۡ وَرَضِيۡتُ لَكُمُ الۡاِسۡلَامَ دِيۡنًا‌ؕ فَمَنِ اضۡطُرَّ فِىۡ مَخۡمَصَةٍ غَيۡرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّاِثۡمٍ‌ۙ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ‏‏﴿۳﴾

تم پر مرا ہوا جانور اور (بہتا) لہو اور سور کا گوشت اور جس چیز پر خدا Ú©Û’ سوا کسی اور کا نام پکارا جائے اور جو جانور گلا Ú¯Ú¾Ù¹ کر مر جائے اور جو چوٹ Ù„Ú¯ کر مر جائے اور جو گر کر مر جائے اور جو سینگ Ù„Ú¯ کر مر جائے یہ سب حرام ہیں اور وہ جانور بھی جس Ú©Ùˆ درندے پھاڑ کھائیں۔ مگر جس Ú©Ùˆ تم (مرنے سے پہلے) ذبح کرلو اور وہ جانور بھی جو تھان پر ذبح کیا جائے اور یہ بھی کہ پاسوں سے قسمت معلوم کرو یہ سب گناہ (Ú©Û’ کام) ہیں آج کافر تمہارے دین سے ناامید ہو گئے ہیں تو ان سے مت ڈرو اور مجھی سے ڈرتے رہو (اور) آج ہم Ù†Û’ تمہارے لئے تمہارا دین کامل کر دیا اور اپنی نعمتیں تم پر پوری کر دیں اور تمہارے لئے اسلام Ú©Ùˆ دین پسند کیا ہاں جو شخص بھوک میں ناچار ہو جائے (بشرطیکہ) گناہ Ú©ÛŒ طرف مائل نہ ہو تو خدا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے﴿۳﴾

Forbidden unto you (for food) are carrion and blood and swineflesh, and that which hath been dedicated unto any other than Allah, and the strangled, and the dead through beating, and the dead through falling from a height, and that which hath been killed by (the goring of) horns, and the devoured of wild beasts, saving that which ye make lawful (by the death-stroke), and that which hath been immolated unto idols. And (forbidden is it) that ye swear by the divining arrows. This is an abomination. This day are those who disbelieve in despair of (ever harming) your religion; so fear them not, fear Me! This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour unto you, and have chosen for you as religion al-Islam. Whoso is forced by hunger, not by will, to sin: (for him) lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.﴾3﴿
