شام سے آج سانس بھاری ہے

صبر ہر بار اختیار کیا

کوئی اٹکا ہوا ہے پل شاید

خوشبو جیسے لوگ ملے افسانے میں

کھلی کتاب کے صفحے الٹتے رہتے ہیں

کانچ کے پیچھے چاند بھی تھا اور کانچ کے اوپر کائی بھی

کہیں تو گرد اڑے یا کہیں غبار دکھے

جب بھی یہ دل اداس ہوتا ہے

ہوا کے سینگ نہ پکڑو کھدیڑ دیتی ہے

ہر ایک غم نچوڑ کے ہر اک برس جیے

گلوں کو سننا ذرا تم صدائیں بھیجی ہیں

دن کچھ ایسے گزارتا ہے کوئی

درد ہلکا ہے سانس بھاری ہے

اٹھو گلے سے لپٹ جاؤ پھر نکھر لینا
